Suspect Arrested With Suspected Human Hand, Firearms in Stop-and-Search
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 21-year-old suspected armed robber, Samson Onilewaji, after he was allegedly found with a suspected human body part, firearms and other stolen items during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Lekki-Epe Expressway. The arrest, which has sparked fresh concerns over violent crime and ritual-related activities, followed the interception of an unregistered commercial shuttle bus conveying six occupants.

According to a statement issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the suspect was found in possession of:
- A suspected human right hand
- Two locally made pistols
- One live cartridge
- Two axes
- One Point of Sale (POS) terminal
- Five ATM cards

The suspect, identified as Samson Onilewaji, 'm', aged 21 years, was found in possession of a suspected human right hand, two locally made pistols, one live cartridge, two axes, one POS terminal machine and five ATM cards.

Suspect Confesses to Robbing Three Victims
The statement disclosed that the suspect confessed to recently robbing three individuals of their valuables, including the recovered POS terminal and ATM cards. It added that efforts were ongoing to identify and contact the robbery victims for the return of their recovered belongings.
The Command also said investigations had commenced to determine the identity of the owner of the recovered suspected human hand, the circumstances surrounding its possession and its intended use. Police authorities further disclosed that efforts had been intensified to identify and apprehend other criminal associates linked to the suspect.
The suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, reaffirmed the Command's determination to rid Lagos State of violent criminals and other criminal elements, assuring residents of the Command's unwavering commitment to combating violent crime and maintaining public safety across the state. The police commissioner also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to support the Command by providing timely and credible information that would assist in preventing crime and enhancing security.
