Commitment to Justice and Rule of Law

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has reaffirmed his commitment to professional policing, the rule of law, and equal justice, regardless of the social status or position of individuals. Jimoh gave the assurance when he received the National President of the Ilorin Emirates Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Assistant Comptroller-General of Immigration, ACG A. A. AbdulMalik (Rtd.), and other members of the union on a courtesy visit to the Zonal Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos.

The AIG stated that his responsibilities as a police officer would continue to be guided by respect for fundamental human rights, justice, and fairness. He assured the delegation that the police under his watch would discharge their constitutional mandate without fear or favour, noting that the recognition from the IEDPU served as a significant reminder of the responsibilities attached to public service.

Commendation from Ilorin Emirates Descendants

Earlier in the visit, the National President of IEDPU, ACG A. A. AbdulMalik (Rtd.), commended Jimoh for his distinguished career, professionalism, and contributions to national development. AbdulMalik, who led the delegation, expressed gratitude for the AIG’s leadership in maintaining relative peace and security across Lagos and Ogun States. He described Jimoh as a disciplined and principled officer whose conduct reflects responsible citizenship.

AbdulMalik further highlighted that the qualities displayed by the AIG were consistent with the moral standards of Barakat Community Secondary School, Ilorin, where Jimoh completed his secondary education. The school, established by the IEDPU, was designed to inculcate sound societal values and moral discipline alongside academic excellence. The union expressed full confidence in Jimoh’s ability to continue acting in accordance with the rule of law.

Responding to the accolades, Jimoh acknowledged the union’s longstanding interest in his career and expressed gratitude for their continued support. He noted that the visit was particularly significant because it reinforced the core values of service and integrity expected of all public officers.
