Nigerian-owned social media platform Revva has unveiled its integrated ecosystem combining content, community, and commerce during Blockf3st Africa 2026. The platform aims to empower digital creators and users by linking social engagement directly to commercial opportunities.

Revva, a Nigerian-owned social media platform, is seeking to expand opportunities for content creators, digital entrepreneurs, and online communities by integrating content sharing, social interaction, and commercial services into a single ecosystem. Built and managed by Nigerians, the platform is anchored around three core pillars—Content, Community, and Commerce—enabling users to share ideas, build targeted audiences, interact with peers, and explore avenues to monetize their creativity.
According to the company, the initiative aims to shift online engagement beyond passive scrolling toward active participation in the digital economy. The platform features tools for video and content distribution, Banter for open conversations, Echo for direct messaging, live broadcast sessions, user subscriptions, a digital Wallet, and an integrated Marketplace providing utility transactions such as airtime and data purchases.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Saturday, October 24, 2026, the company explained that its architecture bridges the gap between creative output and economic utility. Ayoola Oyekanmi, Founding Partner at Revva, emphasized that social platforms must offer users substantive value beyond continuous media consumption.
Revva was built around the belief that social media can be more than a place where people scroll through content. It can be a place where they express themselves, find their communities, share their ideas and explore opportunities to turn their creativity into value. We want to create a digital space that reflects the ambition and creativity of our people. By bringing Content, Community and Commerce together, we are building towards an experience where users can do more with their time, their ideas and the relationships they build online.

The company noted that while social platforms have become central to how young Nigerians discover trends, voice opinions, and showcase talent, the benefits of digital participation should extend beyond vanity engagement metrics to include sustainable income pathways and practical commercial interactions.
Revva highlighted its local development as a foundational milestone, positioning itself as Nigeria's first social media platform fully owned, built, and managed by Nigerians. The company noted that its underlying technology stack, including its proprietary application programming interface (API), was engineered domestically.
This approach reflects a broader push for African ownership in the core digital infrastructure through which citizens communicate, distribute media, and conduct business. Developing homegrown platforms offers strategic opportunities to build products tailored specifically to local consumer behaviors, market realities, and cultural nuances, while reinforcing domestic participation in the continental digital economy.
The initiative comes amid global growth in the creator economy, where individuals increasingly use digital platforms to establish personal brands, cultivate followings, and unlock commercial opportunities. Under Revva’s model, emerging creators can discover audiences and establish communities around shared interests, while commercial users can leverage the embedded marketplace to carry out transactions directly.
To introduce the platform to prospective users and expand its community, Revva participated as the official gaming partner at Blockf3st Africa 2026. The engagement allowed the platform to interface directly with attendees immersed in gaming, entertainment, software development, and modern digital culture.
During the event, Revva deployed brand activations, gadget giveaways, and branded merchandise, driving on-site app downloads and user registrations. The company used the gathering to demonstrate its interactive tools and onboard new users into its social and commercial ecosystem.
Revva acknowledged that its long-term viability will depend on delivering a dependable everyday user experience, earning community trust, and driving continuous user retention. Accessible through both web and downloadable mobile applications, the platform's next phase will focus on transitioning initial awareness into sustained daily participation, encouraging creators and communities to generate lasting value from their online activities.
