Targeted Raid on Criminal Hideouts

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 147 suspects and recovered an assortment of weapons and illicit substances during a coordinated raid on criminal hideouts. The operation was carried out under the ongoing Operation KO S’AYE III, aimed at dismantling criminal networks and flushing out hoodlums across the state.

Operatives drawn from various formations of the Command launched the raid at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Acting on credible intelligence, the joint team focused on identified black spots, including Boolar and Super Ile-Epo, as part of efforts to neutralize criminal elements allegedly terrorizing local residents.

Recovery of Weapons and Contraband

A statement released on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the operation yielded significant results. During the exercise, security forces recovered 250 expanded cartridges, 22 machetes, five battle axes, two knives, and assorted charms. Operatives also seized one lighter, a pair of scissors, and quantities of substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

The Command noted that all suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue to determine their individual levels of involvement in criminal activities. Authorities have emphasized that legal action will be taken against those found culpable of specific offenses.

Those found to have committed criminal offences will be prosecuted accordingly.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their professionalism and dedication during the early morning operation. He reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to sustain Operation KO S’AYE across the state, ensuring that criminals are denied safe havens to enhance the safety and security of all residents.

CP Fatai also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide the police with timely and credible information regarding criminal activities. He stressed that community cooperation is vital for identifying hideouts, apprehending offenders, and improving public safety across Lagos State.
