APC governorship candidate Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji has unveiled a 'Prosperity Agenda' to revive key economic assets and stimulate industrial growth in Osun State.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has pledged to revive key economic assets as part of a comprehensive strategy to reposition the state as a leading investment and industrial destination. The plan targets the restoration of the Dagbolu Dry Port, Osun-Osogbo Grove, Oba Hills National Park, and the Ido-Osun Airport.
Oyebamiji, a former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), unveiled the blueprint on Saturday while receiving members of the Coalition of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria in Osogbo. The visit was facilitated by the Waterfront Boat Owners and Transporters Association of Nigeria (WABOTAN) in recognition of his contributions to the inland waterways sector.

Describing the initiative as the "Osun Prosperity Agenda," Oyebamiji characterized it as a practical blueprint for economic transformation and inclusive governance. He noted that unlocking the potential of these strategic assets would stimulate commerce, strengthen tourism, and attract both local and foreign investment to create sustainable employment across the state.
A central focus of the agenda is the revival of the Dagbolu Dry Port and the Osun Free Trade Zone to improve trade facilitation and logistics. Oyebamiji emphasized that these assets would position Osun as a competitive industrial and export hub within Nigeria, fostering wealth creation through private sector engagement.
We will resuscitate strategic economic assets that have the capacity to transform Osun's economy, stimulate private sector investment and create wealth for our people.
— Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, Governorship Candidate, All Progressives Congress (APC)

Beyond industrial assets, the candidate highlighted the importance of tourism and environmental landmarks. By focusing on the Osun-Osogbo Grove and Oba Hills National Park, the agenda seeks to diversify the state’s revenue streams while preserving its cultural and natural heritage.
Addressing social concerns, Oyebamiji promised targeted intervention programmes to support vulnerable citizens and the prompt payment of salaries for workers. He committed to restoring dignity in the public service and driving employment through public works programmes and enterprise support initiatives specifically designed for young people.
To ensure long-term growth, the candidate pledged to strengthen the Osun State Investment Promotion Agency and develop industrial parks with modern infrastructure. He also assured micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) of improved access to microcredit and grants, while promising to modernize educational and healthcare facilities through strategic partnerships.
Supporting the vision, WABOTAN President Comrade Tope Fajemirokun described Oyebamiji as a high-performing administrator. Fajemirokun suggested that under such leadership, Osun State could emerge as a leading player in the blue economy, particularly through maritime tourism at sites like the Erin-Ijesha Waterfalls and the Osogbo Grove.
