APC governorship candidate Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji has challenged the Osun State government to account for monthly federal allocations of up to N17 billion, citing a lack of visible projects. He emphasized that his administration would prioritize human life and inclusive governance over political ambition.

Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has challenged the current state administration over its utilization of federal allocations. Speaking during an interactive session with journalists on Sunday, Oyebamiji alleged that despite receiving between N16 billion and N17 billion every month, the current government has failed to deliver projects that reflect this increased revenue.
The APC candidate questioned the impact of the significant revenue inflows that have accrued to the state since the inauguration of President Bola Tinubu. He argued that there are few visible developments across the state, including the capital city of Osogbo, to justify the funds received by the current administration.
This state has been receiving between N16 billion and N17 billion monthly since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu came on board. What has this administration been doing with the money?

Beyond financial scrutiny, Oyebamiji declared that no political office is worth the loss of human life. He asserted that the protection of lives and the welfare of citizens would form the foundation of his administration if elected governor, stating that governance should be evaluated by its impact on ordinary citizens rather than political rhetoric.
He insisted that government must prioritize accountability and transparency while ensuring that the security of the people remains a primary variable. He noted that the current administration has allegedly struggled to maintain basic administrative functions, such as holding regular executive meetings.
There is no position that is worth killing a soul. The welfare of the people and the security of the people are the main variables in my governance. Every other thing is complementary.

Oyebamiji promised to run an inclusive government that engages different segments of society in decision-making. He noted that various groups, including artisans, civil servants, and marketers, face distinct socio-economic challenges that require tailored policy responses. He advocated for a management-by-objectives approach to ensure all stakeholders are involved in the state's development.
He further maintained that previous APC administrations led by former governors Rauf Aregbesola and Adegboyega Oyetola executed impactful projects despite operating with lower financial resources than the present government. He pledged that his administration would ensure public resources translate into visible infrastructure and improved public services.
The needs of artisans are different from those of civil servants and marketers. Good leadership starts by understanding these needs and addressing them. We need to listen to these categories of people and run an inclusive government.
