The Executive Chairman of Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Akinola Abiodun Idowu, has assured members of the Orile-Agege LCDA Crime Fighters, popularly known as Paramole, of improved welfare and prompt salary payments. The initiative aims to strengthen the security architecture and enhance the operational capacity of the council’s security outfit.
During an interactive meeting held on Thursday, July 16, Hon. Idowu emphasized that his administration prioritizes the well-being of officers to ensure they perform their duties effectively. He specifically announced that salaries would henceforth be paid on the 23rd of every month, bringing the local outfit into alignment with the payment schedule used for Lagos State civil servants.
Beyond financial remuneration, the chairman pledged to provide the Crime Fighters with modern security equipment and regular training. These measures are intended to bolster their professionalism and improve their efficiency in combating local crime alongside other paramilitary agencies in the state.
Hon. Idowu also disclosed that additional financial empowerment initiatives are being developed to further support the officers' livelihoods. To ensure a streamlined response to their needs, the chairman directed that all welfare and operational concerns be channeled through the Chief Security Officer (CSO), promising prompt attention to all legitimate requests.
While promising support, the chairman issued a stern warning regarding the conduct of the officers. He maintained that his administration would not tolerate indiscipline, specifically citing lateness, absenteeism, and the consumption of alcohol while in uniform or on duty. He urged the officers to remain patriotic and professional in their service to the community.
Responding to the chairman’s address, Officer Ayo expressed gratitude for the executive’s commitment to their welfare. He reaffirmed the dedication of the security personnel to maintaining peace and safety within the council area.
