Chayah Hope Foundation reaches 1,200 displaced persons in Mangu and Pushit
The wife of the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Dr Martina Nentawe Yilwatda, has extended humanitarian support to Internally Displaced Persons in Mangu Town and Pushit communities of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, reaching over 1,200 beneficiaries with food items and cash assistance. The intervention, carried out through the Chayah Hope Foundation founded by Dr Yilwatda, is part of sustained efforts aimed at cushioning the hardship of families displaced by insecurity and other humanitarian challenges in the state.

Speaking during the outreach, Dr Yilwatda said the initiative was borne out of the need to translate compassion into tangible action, particularly for vulnerable populations grappling with difficult living conditions in IDP camps and host communities. She emphasised that humanitarian response must go beyond expressions of sympathy and be reflected in practical interventions that restore dignity and hope to affected persons.
Compassion must go beyond sentiments and be reflected in actions that improve the lives of vulnerable people.
— Dr Martina Nentawe Yilwatda, Founder, Chayah Hope Foundation
According to her, while many displaced families continue to face severe economic and social challenges, consistent support from individuals, organisations and government partners remains critical to rebuilding lives and restoring confidence in the future. She also noted that the foundation's interventions are designed to complement ongoing humanitarian efforts by government and development partners, particularly in areas most affected by insecurity and displacement.
